The project takes its name from the name of a type of silk fabric called Kutanu, which is understood to be traded in documents engraved on stone between Assyrians and Anatolia about a thousand years ago. This fabric is thought by historians to be the ancestor of today's Kutnu fabric. In addition, Kutanu fabric is the theme of the project and the collection.
